We’re excited to be joined by Harvard University’s head coach for Men’s Rugby, Colton Cariaga, who’ll be our special guest on our upcoming webinar, discussing what it takes to play rugby and study at an Ivy League University. The most prestigious and highest profile academic institution in the world, with an esteemed list of alum including Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerburg and former presidents John F Kennedy and Barack Obama. More than 50,000 students apply to Harvard each year, with the regular decision acceptance rate being just 2.7%. Rugby has a long and prominent history at Harvard, and Coach Cariaga joined the program in 2023, having enjoyed 8 success years at Life University. He is also the head coach of Team USA’s U23s 7s national team, bringing vast rugby coaching experience to the role. We’ll be talking all things Ivy League rugby, the demands of balancing playing with the academic challenges at Harvard, the admissions process for an aspiring rugby player, with the opportunity to ask Coach Cariaga your own questions.
Mastering the SAT

Rockstar are a boutique tutoring company based in New York and Andy is one of the best SAT tutors in the business, with a special ability to turn a morass of too much information into something approachable and even fun. Our Q&A session will deliver advice to prospective students and student-athlete starting out on their US university journey, giving an overview of the SAT, what’s required to improve your admission chances, and guidance on preparing for an SAT, improving your scores ,and studying techniques. Life as a Freshman College Rugby Player
Aspiring rugby players are invited to join us for a webinar with Ellie-Jane Bowdler, a student athlete at Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma. We’ll get an insight into life as a freshman at one of the country’s up and coming women’s rugby programs with Ellie-Jane, who played regional, county and club level rugby in England, before moving to the US this summer with support from FirstPoint USA. Developing into one of the strongest women’s rugby programs in the nation, the Crimson Storm reached the final of the NCD DI National Championship 15s last Fall, beating Northern Iowa in the semis before losing to Wheeling in the final. They finished the season with a 9-3 record in 15s and went unbeaten in their Spring 7s schedule. We’ll chat all things college rugby, settling into life on campus, balancing training with academics, and her journey from FirstPoint rugby trial to securing her place on the SNU program.

One of the foremost rugby players of his generation, Welsh international Sam became only the second player to captain the British & Irish Lions on two tours in 2013 and 2017, and played for Wales 74 times. Now heading up the SW7 Academy strength and condition app, Sam discussed mindset and leadership in helping athletes prepare for life at college in the States.
